Our Keynote Presentation,**"Leadership for a Lifetime: How the Past Prepares Us for the Future**", will be presented by Paul Butler, a 27-year law enforcement professional who excels in motivation, leadership, customer service, and attitude empowerment. This motivational presentation will cover what it takes to be a good professional and highlight the power of being a good person. You will learn how to take your individual talents and apply them to the group setting to make an unstoppable and productive team. He will discuss the most important leadership traits, as well as how you can use the lessons of yesterday to overcome the challenges of today and capitalize on the opportunities of tomorrow.

Radical Empowerment: How to be your Best Self
We have all said it: “I know what to do, I just don’t do it!” It’s so frustrating! Why do we get stuck like that? What’s going on here? It takes radical empowerment to make authentic choices that honor ourselves, our health, and our life. In this talk, we’ll discuss the cause of knowing what to do, but not doing it. Then we will identify strategies and daily practices to change and feel better for good.

"Equanimity”: Tools for the Crisis (CIT for Civilians)
Sworn personnel are usually trained to deal with individuals with mental health issues, however, civilians (such as records techs, communication techs, or secretaries) are often the first point of contact with the customers who call or come into our agencies. Although the training is usually in a 40 -hour block, this training will give us some basic tools to assist an individual who may be in crisis.

There are common characteristics that respected people and effective leaders share - most of these traits are developed by the individual rather than through the position they hold. This presentation will cover some of these most important leadership traits, as well as how each individual can use the lessons of yesterday to overcome the challenges of today and capitalize on the opportunities of tomorrow.
