Join us to learn about the development of the Static-99R, how to reliably score and interpret the instrument, and how to utilize information provided by the Static-99R for risk-based resource allocation in the community. Practical scoring exercises, application, and use with indigenous populations will also be highlighted.
**Tribes electing to implement SORNA are eligible to attend this training.** Risk assessment can augment sex offender registration and notification practices to protect the public through targeting additional resources to those sex offenders that are designated higher risk through an objective process. The Static-99R is one of the most widely researched and commonly used risk assessment tools for adult males convicted of sexual crimes in the world. This workshop is designed for all stakeholders involved in sex offender-related programming, including parole/probation officers, evaluators, and SORNA officers. Copies of the Static-99R manual, scoring sheets and other materials will be provided for your own use.
