Protective factors are those elements of a young person's life that protect them against future illegal behavior. Learn how traditional Native American values and teachings can be used in a flexible curriculum to help young people stop engaging in harmful and illegal activities. The principles and methods discussed during this training will be familiar to all audiences. Just as people are trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver to help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
