Practice skills to effectively resolve disturbances that may arise in community supervision, home visits, search and seizure, and in the courtroom setting. Officers will review the disturbance resolution model, which is a tool used to assess situations as well as explore various communication techniques to de-escalate situations.

When you register for Officer Safety, you may also register for Drug ID and Detection during that same process.** Training is pending BJA approval.
The Officer Safety Training is intended for tribal probation officers. During the 2.5 day training, officers will review the disturbance resolution model, which is a tool used to assess situations as well as explore various communication techniques to de-escalate situations. Officers will also explore legal justifications for using force as well as situational desirability, and threat assessment opportunities.
