By analyzing real cases, learn to recognize the various types of missing children incidents and how they are reported. Through call analysis and scenario-based learning, explore optimal practices, utilizing NCIC, APCO, and ANSI systems and standards. Additionally, the course focuses on resilience-building strategies to support the telecommunicator’s mental health in these emotionally demanding cases.
The Good Road of Life is a trauma-informed, culture and resilience-based curriculum that utilizes peer support to overcome multiple risk factors including substance misuse, historical and everyday trauma, violence prevention, suicide prevention, grief-loss, forgiveness, spirituality, healthy relationships, family preservation and communications skills. The model uses Dr. Clayton Small’s dissertation study completed at Gonzaga University that focused on wellness and healing for Native people. This is an opportunity for tribal courts, law enforcement, schools, mental health, social services and treatment programs to collaborate on a less punitive approach in the healing of their communities.

Explore the relationship between paraphilia such as exhibitionism, voyeurism, and fetishism and criminal acts. Review and dissect real case examples to gain insight into offender modus operandi. Knowledge obtained can be applied during interview and interrogation to help resolve sexually motivated cases.
Examine suspicious death case studies based on the experiences of a homicide detective and forensic pathologist.
