A critical condition for developing a trauma-informed system (i.e., agencies and other care providing setting) is for all staff members, including professionals, support staff and administrators, to have a comprehensive understanding of the effects and complexity of trauma, its potential behavioral manifestations and principles for addressing the needs of traumatized clients (Jennings, 2004). Training is essential in the process of transforming an agency to become trauma-informed. This three-part webinar series will cover a wide variety of topics and provide you with strategies for interacting with traumatized clients. (Part 1- Feb 6) What is Trauma?, (Part 2- Feb 27) The Long Reach of Intergenerational Trauma, (Part 3- March 13) Interacting with Traumatized Clients.

Examine how stress and trauma impact the brain and the primary areas of the brain involved with responses to stress. Learn about various types of trauma, i.e. inter-generational, childhood, and complex trauma, and what should be considered when working with clients who have experienced trauma.
