Daniel J. Steele has been a Police Officer for twenty-three (23) years and is currently assigned to the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Special Investigations Unit (SVU), as a Criminal Investigator. He is responsible for the investigation of human trafficking offenses in Colorado’s Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties. In his previous position at the Denver Police Department, in partnership with the FBI founded the Rocky Mountain Innocence Lost Task Force. He supervised the unit for over five (5) years, facilitating exponential growth across the Denver metro area. Investigator Steele is deputized through the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Innocence Lost National Initiative as a Special Deputy United States Marshal to investigate crimes of human sex trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of children.
