Join other investigators to gather new information and tools for investigating fire and explosion related deaths. Examine the principles of fire behaviors, areas of focus in fire related deaths, working with the medical examiner’s office and evidence/scene safety considerations.
This is an in person PILOT course. Pre-registration is required. You will receive additional details in your confirmation email and in communications leading up to training. Upon completion of this training, you will be able to: * Consider scene managements and evidence considerations for fire and explosion related investigations * Identify fire response protocols for scene management, investigation responsibilities and evidence collection * Consider and apply investigative skills through case study review and table-top exercises related to fire and explosion scenes * Demonstrate current evidence collection and storage methods for fire and explosion related events * Build effective relationships while maximizing efforts with a multi-disciplinary team response to fire related events
