Bruce has more than 33 years of experience in law enforcement and public safety to include patrol, investigations, drug enforcement, special operations, administrative services, personnel management, and emergency management. He began his career as a FBI support employee in Washington D.C. and became a security police officer at Quantico Va. Bruce returned home and spent the next 27 years as a member of the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office. During this time he enjoyed 22 years of progressively more responsible positions of leadership and supervision. This includes 12 years as Captain with multiple command assignments, where he has developed wide-ranging experience in public safety operations. As Captain, Bruce has been responsible for the direct management and supervision of each of the main divisions in sequence (Criminal, Patrol, CID, Administrative) with as many as 125 Deputies and supervisors, 60 support personnel, and more than 150 volunteers under my command at one time.
