Excited Delirium Syndrome is medical condition that law enforcement is often requested to respond to. Excited delirium is broadly defined as a state of agitation, excitability, paranoia, aggression, and apparent immunity to pain, often associated with stimulant use and certain psychiatric disorders. Excited Delirium can often be fatal due to cardiac arrest. A misdiagnosis near onset can lead to an inability to provide proper medical treatment. Sometimes these deaths occur in police custody. Attend this webinar to learn about the types of chemical imbalances and drugs that can lead to excited delirium, recognize key symptoms and behavior, and discuss safety measures for first responders and law enforcement in responding to these cases.
