Ideally, this individual’s role is to implement and manage the newly awarded project(s). In addition, one Financial Manager per grantee must also participate. **Registration Information** When you register for the CTAS New Grantee Orientation January 9-10, 2024, you may also register for the Listening Session. The FY 2023 CTAS New Grantee Orientation is designed to provide CTAS grant recipients with the tools and guidance necessary to implement and operate funded programs. Sessions will provide information on how to successfully manage your grant, how to use the JustGrants system, fraud awareness, and will provide examples of successful programs. Grantees will have an opportunity to attend Purpose Area specific workshop sessions. These sessions will provide an overview of reporting requirements, points of contact, resources, and assistance available through training and technical assistance providers. **Training Schedule: January 9 - 10, 2024** Tuesday, January 9, 2024: **Check In/Registration** | 7:30 am - 8:30 am Pacific Tuesday, January 9, 2024: **Orientation Day 1** | 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Wednesday, January 10, 2024: **Orientation Day 2** | 8:30 am - 3:00 pm Upon completion of this training, you will be able to: * Understand the new JustGrants system and available tools and resources to effectively manage CTAS grants * Identify grant financial requirements and system/s to use to complete reports * Identify best practices to manage CTAS grants to prevent fraud and high risk status **Please note**, the FY 2023 CTAS New Grantee Orientation is scheduled for 2 days *prior to the Emerging Issues in Tribal Courts Conference (January 11-12, 2024).* This event will provide tribal justice system officials with recent legal updates impacting tribal courts and tribal justice systems and strategies to improve tribal court operations within tribal justice systems. Some of the topics that will be addressed at this conference will include: * Impact of Haaland v. Brackeen on tribal courts and tribal justice systems. * Criminal jurisdiction updates to include and examination of Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta and United States v. Cooley. * Separation of powers for tribal justice systems.
