Alica works to strengthen the response to child abductions and missing children in Tribal communities through coordinated training, outreach, and interagency collaboration. A citizen of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Alica brings more than 25 years of service to her community, including 17 years with the Cherokee Indian Police Department, where she served as a civilian staff member and the department's Public Information Officer (PIO). As PIO, Alica was responsible for managing communications during critical incidents, coordinating with the media, overseeing public messaging, and managing the department's social media platforms to ensure timely, accurate, and culturally respectful communication. Her experience in crisis communication and digital outreach now supports her work in Indian Country, where she helps Tribal nations strengthen their emergency communication strategies and integrate with the national AMBER Alert system. Her work is rooted in a commitment to justice, cultural preservation, and the protection of Indigenous children. Alica is a trusted advocate, trainer, and collaborator, passionate about building sustainable systems of protection through respectful partnerships and community engagement.

Mary was born and raised in Sitka, Alaska. She is Tlingit from the Raven/Frog Clan and a Tribal Citizen of Sitka Tribe of Alaska. Mary worked for Sitka Police Department as a patrol office and sexual assault investigator until 2020. From there, she started working for Sitka Tribe of Alaska and was appointed a tribal court judge in 2021- present. Mary has been an associate for Fox Valley Technical College since 2023.
