This training explores the complex relationship between substance misuse, drug trafficking, violence, and victimization in Tribal communities. Participants will examine current trends affecting Indian Country, including the impact of synthetic drugs such as fentanyl and methamphetamine, trafficking networks, jurisdictional challenges, youth vulnerability, and community safety concerns. The course highlights how these issues affect individuals, families, and Tribal systems while emphasizing the importance of culturally responsive, collaborative approaches to prevention, intervention, treatment, recovery, victim support, and public safety. Through discussion, case-based learning, and Tribal Community Response Planning activities, participants will identify strategies to strengthen partnerships, leverage community strengths, and develop coordinated responses that support safety, wellness, and resilience.
